Flaming River has now engineered the popular rack and pinion cradle systems for the 55-57 Chevy with power or manual steering. This system replaces the early long shaft steering box with a new tilt column. All mounting hardware and universal joints are also included for a complete kit. Pump, bracket, reservoir and hoses are sold separately. By mounting the rack on the cradle system, this not only reinforces the chassis, but also provides increased ground clearance. This jig welded mounting cradle fits between the frame rails and bolts in place using the original chassis location. No suspension modification is required and the system installs easily with hand tools. Full turning radius is engineered into the system.
