Buick Headers
Starting in 1953 Buick offered an overhead valve pushrod engine known as the "Nailhead" for the unusual vertical position of its small-sized valves, which were compared to nails since their head diameter is smaller than other comparable displacement engines of the same era. The Nailhead V8 family used a camshaft with greater lift and duration to offset the smaller-sized valves and the restrictive intake and exhaust port diamaters. The small-diameter valves and intake runners allowed these engines to develop very high torque, with many engines exceeding one foot-pound per cubic inch, which was exceptional for the day.
Do you have a Buick Nailhead engine ? If you do, we have the headers for you - along with headers for other Buick power plants. If you don't see what you need, give us a call. 800-373-9137
